Location

The Max Planck Institute for Informatics is located at Saarland Informatics Campus (SIC) on the campus of Saarland University. The SIC is one of the leading locations for computer science research in Germany and Europe. Four world-renowned research institutes, namely the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems,  and the Center for Bioinformatics, together with the Departments of Computer Science, Mathematics and Language Science & Technology of  Saarland University, cover the entire spectrum of computer science. Right next to the SIC is located the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security, the world's leading institution for research on all aspects of information security.
