In 2006, the Max Planck Institutes for Informatics and for Software Systems agreed to maintain joint central services, with personnel in Kaiserslautern and Saarbruecken.
The joint central services seek to ensure optimal working conditions for the institutes' scientists, within the regulations of the funders (states and federal government) and the applicable bylaws of the Max Planck Society.
The joint central services are a modern service center that helps with questions and concerns that go beyond routine administrative tasks. Its focus is on meeting the needs of the institutes' international community of scientists and guests.
